Do you know if they used french engines? I hung myself up on this one, cause I thought they’re Gnome Rhône.

Well, I have to admit that I was pretty laisy lately, so i have to counterpise all those furloughs.

However, it has to be emphasized that aforementioned airplane actually represents the Soviet post-war heavy ground attack airplane.

No my dear Mr. Drake – only the first prototype, finished back there in 1936 actually used Gnome-Rhone 12N16/17 radial engines, with respectively 900 HP (662 kW). All serial built airplanes have used Piaggio PXI RC-40 (1000 HP – 736 kW) or Fiat A 74 RC-38 (618 kW – 840 HP).

Indeed,1947 to be more precisely.

Martin Baker M.B.5

Is correct, seems that it going to be difficult to trick some members with odd airplanes here

I know it’s got a red star on the tail, but it does look awfully like a prototype/very early model Dornier 17.

But is ruskie all the way.

Sukhoi Su-8

And that is correct

Wich was the high scoring US fighter ace killed in action in ww2 ?

Major Thomas Buchanan McGuire. Killed in action January 7, 1945. 38 Victories

Indeed, Tommy Mcguire P-38 stalled and crashed while engaging nakajima Ki-43 at low altitude.

Next:

Arado Ar 198

Very good Amrit, it war the Arado also know as "the fliegende aquarium"…for obvious reasons.

Other.

You really do like flying oddities, my dear Mr. Panzerknacker – the answer is Tomashevich Pegas. Here it is:

Very good.

I do.

This is a easy one:

Wich type of aircraft scored the first air-to-air victory in ww2 ?

If we accept that WW2 started on the 1st September, and not the 3rd (when France and Britain declared war) then it is probably the Ju 87B (T6+GK) from I/StG2 “Immelmann” flown by UnteroffizierFrank Neubert who shot down a PZL P11 flown by the CO 121Eskadra Mysliwska, Mieczyslaw Medwecki. He was killed. This occurred at either 5.30am or 7 am (depending on which account one reads).

Indeed, it was a Stuka, crazy fact isnt ?

New:

Messerschmitt Bf 162
