I’ve always struggled to hit over 400m over iron sights with the SA80, i’m not a great shot. I would say average to good. Of course the issue helmet doesn’t help but it’s a poor workman who blames his tools.
Just luck on the longer shot a white bullhorn my spotter saw it with his 7X50’s

The iron sights are only supposed to be used up to 300m for us poor Teeth but not Teeth Arms not equipped with the SUSAT.

The MK6 helmet is an abortion to shoot with though if done up correctly especially wearing a Bergan/largepack or body armour when in the prone position.
A good and happy squaddie however, is always whinging about everything though lol.

We did an awesome range package recently down at Hyde/Lydd ranges. We were doing live advance to contact shoot up to distances of up to 600m with some gimpy rounds going over head - it was the dog’s bollocks, however, as mentioned trying to hit running huns at 400m was difficult at best although I did get some of them.:army:
