I always thought Helsing was out to destroy the monsters. (dracula, werewolves, frankenstein, etc.)
I’m not talking about the traditional Van Hellsing. I mean the Anime Hellsing (with Alucard = Dracula as Main character) that Schmidt mentioned earlier.

Well, I understand the ‘England good, Germany bad’ theme in the story, pretty typical.
But what I don’t understand is why the Vatican is bad? Isn’t at least the traditional Van Helsing a subject and an employee of the Vatican?
Oh right, in this one Hellsing is an organization of the Church of England, and is protestant.

Or at least give people a little heads up. There’s a difference between anime with Nazis as part of the story’s subject, and Nazi Hentai/'Nazi Sexploitation’ (term given on the site, not mine)… :neutral:

Yeah, The mainstream tries to stay off WWII and things like that in general.
The ones that do feature the NSDAP, and WWII (except for pacific, thats OK) are usually sold as DVDs. Hellsing is another one of those. They made a crappy version for TV but they didnt do it very well…
There is another one I heard of, in which the Japanese makes peace with the USA, and fights the Nazis, but Icouldnt find it on Youtube.
