M1 carbine

The M-1 Carbine was made by many many different companies in WW II I have in my collection a under 26,000 serial number Carbine made by Inland and issued in 1942 I know this because it was given to my family by the veteran who caried it in the Pacific.

the Carbine was intended to replace the pistol issued to rear troops and heavy weapons crews.

Make note my grandfather was a Heavy weapons compny XO and he carried a Garand and a Colt 1911 not to mention the 3 pistols he liberated he said and I willl quote him “thank god the guy in QM messed up and issued the whole company Garands if we had been issued the Carbine we would have never survived the war as most of the time we were deployed as Infantry instead of support…”

I love this little rifle…anyway you can post a pic of this M1? I have a 1-43 Inland and its one of the top rifles in my collection.

when I recive my new (WWII Issue) Garand I’ll post photos of both

…where you will not be permitted to purchase one.

This is the sort of factually if distressingly correct advice which leads the likes of colonel hogan to think about sucking on the muzzle of a Webley, or equivalent, acquired at a serious garage sale.
