The Alexander Nevsky was the first soviet hit about medium ages battles. ( THe director of S. Euthzenshtain , music- Prokofiev, produser and ideology - comrade Stalin. That’s glorious command of professionals !) 
This was a amazing film about Battle on Lake Peipus where the heavy armoured knights whith horses drowned under the thin like ice.
Alexander Nevsky was only 12 years old during the battle (!!!). Later he was poison by the Golden Horde.
