I mod at another site, and we usually attack this problem by changing the spam posts into embarrassing feminine hygiene products or something or by changing their links to a disgusting site, then we lock and dump them to a largely ignored forum on the messageboard.
It seems to have decreased advert-spam quite a bit.
It seems but still is plenty work for the mods.
One of the most amusing were some guy from Spain promoting a local version of Viagra…heheh…erased.
I think there are some Russian buffoons currently spamming this site.
That seems a good idea, bit of hard work though. I wish these spammers would leave and never come back.
You could just edit their post to display there ip and email address!
Coming back, seen and banned.
End of story.
The same formula will be apply on each and every spammer.
