The Regia Aeronautica (Italian Air Force)

As a general question, would it be fair to say that overall, one could summarize that the Regia Areonautica was a well trained competent force? But that they could simply not win any battle of attrition with a first rate power such as the RAF or the USAAF?

For sure, you cant compare 25 four engined bombers with 25,000 made in the US, moreover ad the engine question , better said the lack of suitable engines of 1300-1600 hp wich affected Italy during its entire war period of 1940-43.
