Personally i’m a big fan of the Demarco, IMO a better version of the M-16/M-4 family. Very light and very user friendly, unlike the SA80
Not by a long shot
Quite, bas - it’s basically a .30 M2 in a marginally shorter package, made possible by improvements in powder technology. It’s still got the same ballistics though. Therefore full-power.
That and the fact that the .30-06M2 had to be loaded down or it would break the gas piston on the M1 Garand.
Not true, and a myth debunked by Hatcher - the reason for the M2 was purely range-templates, and that all the old US soldiers who had laid down long-range barrages in WW1 with Vickers and Hotchkiss and who had fought for the introduction of the .30M1 to increase the range of the Browning (over .30-06) had all retired by then.
Basically, once the .30-06 had been used up & they started using the .30M1, they discovered that the .30M1 exceeded the range template which was set up for .30-06. Thus, they introduced .30M2 to effectively match the .30-06 range template (Hatcher’s Notebook, Page 19-31)
For an assualt rifle i would have to go with the m16/m4 family. ak’s are
very good but i just dont see me using one in the next conflict. I would Like an M4 all decked out red dot with flip up sights.
or one of those blasters off of star wars
talk about penatrating power.
I’d say the Austeyr F88 or the Colt M4
Oh dear.
In any case, the M4 has reliablilty and lethality issues.
Hiddenrug: doesn’t the aussteyr have reliability issues due to poor mfg?
Sounds like you are due to be deployed on GW’s next ‘crusade’ !
Seriously though, are you in the US forces ?
Nope Not yet that is. I am 15 soon to be 16 on december 15
But i come from a military familiy dad, brother, grandfathers, uncle’s
and i am going to serve when i am of age.
when i was younger we moved around alot
no not really. It is actually a very realiable rifle!
I think the G 36 and the FN SCAR are relative the same porpouse.
Now, the SPEC OPS have the FN SCAR to replace the M4.
The G 36 looks great! 8)
Best assault rifle in the world.
Getting serious now…
Isn’t the G11 supposed to be exceptionally good?
It was so good that they couldn’t resolve many of the problems with it, and it was dropped. People have been trying for the last 40 years or so to make caseless ammunition work properly, and nobody has yet managed it.
The internals of the G11 are so complicated that they make a Swiss watch look simple.
