No problem, we all have a reallife.
This aircraft is the forgotten DC-5.
Only 12 were build and no one survived
until now. USAAF designation was C-110
and USMC called this R3D.
Thank you for your understanding, my dear Mr. Sergej. And yes, the DC 5 - “the forgotten Douglas” - really was our mysterious bird.
Your turn again!
Ok - this is our next aircraft.
You really do like Soviet constructions, my dear Mr. Sergej! Excellent: Bisnovat SK is my favorite too!
Yes you are right it’s the SK-1.
Soviet aircrafts are really special and dramatic.
Many engineers and scientists felt to Stalins
repressions, were shot or went as prisoners
to Gulags. But there were still made unqiue
aircraft.
Good – in that case, we certainly will have some pleasant moments.
In the meantime, here is another aeronautical quandary. Do you recognize this one?
That seems to be the Ikarus Orkan medium bomber.
And it surely is, my dear Mr. Sergej. Please, proceed.
BTW: don’t you think that we are somehow lonesome here?
To attract some more users I’ll take a easy one but not too easy.
I hope there more people interrested in military gear out there.
OK, my dear Mr. Sergej – in that case I shall just remain silent as well! I think it is a fair deal.
That’s presumably the French postwar knock-off of the Fieseler Storch?
Yes it’s a knock-off but not French and not postwar.
Hello, Sergej!
Is it the Czech built version, the K-65 Čáp?
Russ
Proud son of Rose and Wes
Hi, Malarz Russ
It’s not the K-65, K-65 is a postwar production,
but this bird is a prewar model. It didn’t become
operational because of the war.
A tip: The manufactorer called this aircraft in their language also Stork, like the German (Storch) or the Czech (Čáp).
The only other prewar manufacturer I can find is Antonov, but they called it the A-38 or SHS, neither of which appear to mean Stork :(.
You are right! it’s build by Antonov, some sources called it OKA-38.
Stork in Russian would be Аист (Aist).

It’s your turn.
OK then, this will hopefully be moderately tricky. The whole photo is too easy, so I’m only showing a bit…
Bristol Bombay!
Jeepers that was quick! Next time I’m giving you a cockpit window or a rivet or something!
