WWII Handguns.

A question to everyone. Is it true that Revolvers are generally more powerfull than those… those… (whts the name for them!) other handguns?..

You mean automatic pistols?

If you then the answer is sometimes.

The .38 calibre revolvers that were standard US issue untill 1911 were horridly underpowered when compared to the Colt 1911.

But say a Webley Mk.VI is much more powerful than a Browning High Power or Luger P08.

It all depends on calibre, really.

But Revolvers are usually more reliable and more rugged than automatics.

.455 had rubbish penetration though IIRC, compared to 9mm Para and shortish effective range due to the relatively slow velocity and heavy round.

Ya, it didn’t penatrate much because it tumbled on impact and mostly flattened.

Wasn;t there also a 7.65mm version built in 1935? I wasn’t sure where this version would have been used, but if anyone knows, it would be a big help.

According to my book, yes. 7.65mm with a seven round capacity.

With 7.65 mm caliber, in Romanian Army was only 2 types:
Walther PP 1929
Walther PPK 1931
Edited for syntax
