What’s the positive purpose of putting threads into the above named area?
All these threads are locked yet what can one do when one wants to add to them?

Its to stop the main boards being filled to the brim with threads that are no longer posted on.
If you look at the dates you will see the vast majority had not been posted on in 6 months or more. We run a rolling 6 month ish archive. However if anyone feels they can add to a subject that has been archived, just let us know and we will consider unlocking it and returning it to the appropriate place.

Will or can any Mod return a archived thread to life or is it the site Administrator/Owner?

Correct me if im wrong but just coz a topic is locked doesnt mean you cant still quote from it??? If so maybe we should have them unlock and state that you cant post in the AR for clarity!
Nothing personal GS, but that’s exactly what it means. 
If you use the [quote] facility that is - however if anyone wants to reproduce any of the gen there they can always ‘copy-and-paste’ it into a new post.
