…straight towards Hurtgenforest! The “Keystone” division really got a beating at the so called All Souls’Day-Battle near the village of Schmidt. They had to be pulled out of the front line afterwards.

The Germans called it the "Bloody Bucket" Division.

what a waste of good men, but war is war, yes, the 28th had a tough time to put it lightly
