While many are familiar with Paul Brickhill’s “The Dam Busters”, few indeed have read the story of 617 Squadron thereafter.
The most significant raid is that which resulted in the collapse of the Beilefeld Viaduct, by use of Tallboy bombs, in late 1944.
This is a rather thorough history of 617, after the death of Guy Gibson V.C. and it’s further raids. A well written, and very human story, rather than mere dry facts.
Again, enthusisatically recommended.
Kind Regards, Uyraell.
