Today is Memorial Day in the U.S. a Day set aside to remember those who fell in all the Wars our Nation has been involved in. Sadly to some who know no better, it’s just a 3 day weekend in which to have a barbecue, and a good time. Well, party as you like, just keep the remembrance of the fallen in mind as well, have an extra bite, and an extra drink for those who made the greatest sacrifice a person can make for others.
Our noble government of self-seeking and unprincipled arseholes has distinguished itself as the leader of a land fit for the heroes it sent to fight foreign wars by being the party which required the families of the fallen in the Vietnam / Malayan era to pay for sending their loved ones back home. Given the low wages paid to soldiers then, it wasn’t likely to happen.
And when the Vietnam / Malayan bodies came back for burial in their homeland in the past few days, no leader on either side of the main political parties(and notably the so called Liberals who enthusiastically sent our troops to Vietnam while distinguishing themselves by not serving there and keeping their own kids out of the conflict upon which they said the freedom of the rest of the world depended) could be bothered turning up to honour the return of people who died serving the aims of these outstanding political arseholes, as our current outstanding political arseholes were too busy tramping around the nation trying to get themselves elected so they can be in a position to, among other things, send off more of our service men and women to risk their lives and die in the service of these outstanding political arseholes who couldn’t give a flying fu*k about anyone but their own political ambitions and futures.
The same party of outstanding political arseholes who caused these bodies to die in far foreign lands also managed in the past few days to create the nonsense of a ‘war’ and ‘bullets’ in their fanciful political hostilities in their hysterical domestic political campaign while the bodies of real soldiers were being brought home for a decent burial. Which none of these outstanding political arseholes could be bothered attending.
And our politicians wonder why so many of us hold them in utter contempt!
