IJN submarine I-25 did some great work and its air pilot Nobuo Fujita also did some even more distinguished work, flying unchallenged over major Australian and New Zealand cities at the height of the invasion fears in 1942 (which says something about their preparedness and the quality of their air defences) and being the only Japanese pilot to bomb the US mainland.
