Sometimes the objective isnât to hit the apparent target. As in herding sheep with 7.62, .30 and .50 MGs on a military range where the army foolishly allowed sheep to graze and, even more foolishly, had agreed to compensate the sheep owners for any sheep injured or killed by military operations.
Do you know that at dusk sheep apparently donât see incoming tracer very well?
Machine guns are area coverage weapons anyway, I dont think they had ambitions to hit anything more than the ground (or Revenuers) I wouldnt want to pay the ammo bill for that though,
