After capture

Soldiers of the 15th Panzergrenadier-Division after their capture at the Battle of Gabes Gap (North Africa, April 1943). Different expressions on the faces are cognizable but it seems that the relief of surviving the war prevails.

they look happy but tired and worn out, you know ,there no dishonor in fighting your ass off till you see all the cards on the table, when you see you lost, its done.i see no sense in being suicidal. hopefully these guys still had families back home, and they made it there to see them again
