I have been given a pack of WW II airplane spotter cards that is a facsimile of a deck first issued to allied troops in 1943.
Their are 3 silhouettes on the face of each card, front view, side view and a view of the bottom of the aircraft as would have been seen by a ground observer.
The aircraft are American, German, Japanese, Italian and British.
They are normal playing cards that when played gave the troops an oppotunity to take note of the different aircraft to identify them.
I think this was a very practical and novel idea.
The cards make a great gift and i am really enjoying mine.
Has anybody else got something similar?
