Anti-blast pen

Sheltered by the anti-blast pen an Italian fighter FIAT G.50 with engine running without chocks and pilot or serviceman on board (one serviceman in singlet and shorts is on the right wing). Unit and airfield unknown (but perhaps on Italy). Note the rough condition of the terrain and a CR.42 in background. Victor Sierra

Whenever I see pictures like this one (rough field, temporary blast walls, open terrain) I am always reminded of forward airfields in the Soviet Union.

Hard to tell where this is though and I can not read any of the markings on the aircraft to try and have a guess.

The G.50 was never employed in Soviet Union by thde Italians. But many Italian airfields at the tie were in conditions today inconceivables. Best regards, Victor Sierra
