My grandfather served as a US Navy Seabee on Samoa in World War Two. I am trying to find out any information I can on what exactly they did during their time at Samoa. (What they built, if there was any fighting, I’m looking for any pictures, etc).
His name was Hugh Robertson, he was a Chief Boatswains Mate with CBMU 506.
I have already been in contact with the Seabee Historical Foundation. They provided me with some info…but I was really hoping to find a Veteran who was actually there or soemone who might now about this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Derek Robertson
