Any information would be greatful . Thank you
Hi michelle,
after a rapid quest, i found something about the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders regiment of the British Army, part of the Scottish Division and about Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise’s). I don’t know if your grandfather was english or canadian… Anyway if you digit on Google “Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders”, you’ll find anything you need: foundations, early days, crest, WWI, WWII, Korean war, external links, etc.
I hope you can find this things helpful for your purpose.
Best regards.
Colloquially known as the ‘Argyll and Bolton wanderers’, it is now 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland. It might be worth getting in touch with the regimental headquarters http://www.argylls.co.uk/
There is also the Royal Regiment of Scotland website http://www.army.mod.uk/infantry/regiments/SCOTS.aspx
