Hi, I am trying to find information about my Grandfather who was stationed in UK in 1943. He is said to have been a cook. I wanted to know if every company on a base would have their own cook or were all the cooks in HQ and HQ detachment for the battalion or were they in Service Regt?
Any information on this would be great or anything about 386th, 490th, 494th Port Battalions (Transportation Corps)
