At the Don River bend

The Hungarian Second Army defended that region. It was a bloodbath… every 2nd or 3rd Hungarian family had lost somebody there. :-/ One of my great-great-grandfather was lucky and made it back in one piece.

Hungarian Second Army defended 8th Italian Army’s northern flank, in the area of Voronezh 250 km(155 miles) north of Don’s Bend (Stalingrad)

and was destroyed in the Ostrogozhsk–Rossosh Offensive on the Voronezh Front
