Aussies confound Japanese with 19th century tactics

This is possibly the only WWII action in which Allied troops cleverly used 19th century drill by advancing in a line against Japanese troops, who kindly responded with 19th century drill in this furious action somewhere in the Pacific in late 1944, complete with defective Japanese grenades and Jedi Aussies who merely motion a butt stroke with their rifles and drop the enemy in his tracks.

The American jeep advancing from the Japanese side at the end just goes to show how much the Americans undermined the Australians in WWII.

I didn’t read the YT info. Do you know the origin of this display of the innate Aussie fighting prowess?

P.S. Never mind, I see it’s actually the fighting prowess of Californians merely channeling the mystic fighting powers of the Aussie Army in WWII.

No, and I doubt that any of our soldiers have managed to replicate it since, even when wearing jungle greens rather more crumpled as you’d expect in the field than the crisp uniforms worn by the clumsy clowns trying not to hurt themselves when they collapse into a prone firing position.

And, and I know this will be a shock, the country they’re ‘fighting’ in looks rather like parts of Australia, which apparently got invaded by the Japanese a couple of years after they were repulsed.

This is all very confusing.

Haha, that’s amazing. Especially the slow underhand grenade throw of the “Japanese”…
The guy with the Revolver was a real badass, though…

And Rising Sun, the Japanese didn’t invade Australia for a second time. This is actually in California.

The Americans were lucky that some brave Australians were at hand to repel them.
