Bir Hakeim fighters

Free French soldiers at Bir Hakeim, may-june 1942. Most of them are marine troops, as indicates their navy sidecaps.

so few pictures of free french in action in the desert. It appears to be a dump of equipment being sorted - bed rolls? The vehicles behind are not dispersed so perhaps before actual combat?
