Just recieved a copy of this for my birthday. Damn fine read it is to.
Hair raising stuff.
Basically a collection of personal experiences as told by Bomber Command crews, from trining through to the end of the war in Europe.
There’s some crazy stuff in there. i.e. the tale of one rear gunner whose plane was hit just behind the turret. The plane was on fire and he couldn’t reach his parachute. Burn to death or fall to certain death (with the hope of passing out on the way down). He woke up 3 hours later in a snowy landscape having had his fall broken by a fir tree.
Pardon my language, but F!"k that!!!
Sounds like a really cool read.
Is the title Bomber Crew?
yep.

i found my copy via a search on “abebooks”
an amazing book, published in german, but due to its very content of high all colour pictures it doesnt take much figuring out whats going on.
it is basically a record of the allied damage on german citiess, whilst it appears to focus on Berlin, Hamburg, Koln I recall shots of many Rhine Valley cities plus dresden, munich and others.
it also has some amazing colour pictures of the RAF & USAAF bomber and ground grew plust some escort fighters.
well worth looking at if you want to see the effects of the bombng campaigns on the german cities, not a book about stats and numbers - but a visual guide to the efffects of carpet bombing and firestorms
