as time passes on and we read more and more books about specific events D-Day, Stalingrad etc, which cover these events in minute details I feel I want to read about the ordinary daily life of a soldier. You know what happened on the journey between military engagements, what happened day to day, how did they cope with daily life, what they did when they got up, just routine stuff.
