Bundesarchiv & Wiki

Maybe everybody else already knows this, but it’s news to me! The Bundesarchiv has a limited agreement with Wiki, in which several thousand WWII photos are being made available in the Wiki Commons. The photos on Wiki are larger, higher-rez than what the search function on the Bundesarchiv site provides, and they lack the watermark. The link below takes you to the first page of the Wiki collection from 1941; just change the year in the address if you want to explore the others. It’s quite interesting browsing…

It is a very fine site - hours of browsing - lots of very interesting photographs.
