I dont know much about it, I have been to the site as I live about 25 mins from Oshawa Ontario, but I have always found it interesting, any of you have info on Camp X?
Get your paws on a copy of “A man called Intrepid” by William Stevenson. That should have all you want to know in it, or at the very least provide an excellent start point for further digging. My copy is ISBN 0722181663.
Thanks, pdf27.
It isn’t specifically about the camp, but rather is an overview of the British and US security/intelligence cooperation during WW2 both before and after the US entry to the war. The operations at Camp X are mentioned in some detail because it played a fairly major part in this cooperation.
It’s a good idea to understand the background in any case as it makes understanding the workings of the camp much easier - what they did is meaningless unless put in the wider political, military and intelligence context.
