Can anyone identify this helmet?

This helmet was apparently found in La Rochelle, France, but under what circumstances, I don’t know. It is black for some reason, and has some stamp marks to the rear which makes me think it might be a WW2 M1 GI helmet, although the bales don’t seem correct ???

Seems to be an M51 type pot of French origins…:wink:

Yeah - it is a french helmet made after 1945 - m.e. Mle 1951.
