I assume this is being used in a indirect artillery roleā€¦

Widely used in the indirect role as there was so little threat from the luftwaffe.

Iirc they had a longer range than much of the field artillery when used indirect due to the higher MV but undulating terrain interferred with the fire plan (flatter trajectory).

It did wear the barrels out quicker than the 25pdrs as well.
