It varies in me from year to year. I don’t how it is in Europe and the Isles, but it seems people used to be somewhat apologetic about the season’s crass commercialism. But now everyone simply gets excited about how the market goes up because stores are now open at midnight the morning after one of the United States’ bigger family holidays: Thanksgiving. I find it all a bit appalling…
Free yourself from excessive feeding and the commerce. Visit a church service, remember the original meaning of Christmas and you might get a wonderful holiday, kinda like in childhood.
And no, I’m not overly religious.
I’ll have to find a place where we can worship Saturnine in a great Roman-style party and orgy. I’m not sure there are any places in Buffalo, NY as we’re rather provincial… 
You might try the Church of the Knotted Ash, its someplace near by you, Not Roman per se, but probably puts on a good Bacchus Festival 
I’m landing at JFK on the 22nd. Not a good start to Christmas!

It’s 39 degrees tomorrow in Melbourne, I’m going in my auntie’s / uncle’s pool for a swim, just shy of 2 days off Christmas.
