This AVRE was used to lay a Small Box Girder Bridge (SBG) and was named Bulldog.

The carriers still have their landing screens attached. These were never intended to make them bouyant or even to allow them to wade in deep water. Their purpose was to prevent the vehicles from being swamped by waves as they drove through the surf line.
