Cold shots with my Enfield

Nice! I would love something like that. (Santa are you reading this?)

That looks a bit like the British L42 or maybe the Enforcer type 7.62mm NATO Lee Enfield.

I wouldn’t know an L42 from my arsehole, but the targets seem to have L42 written on them so you may well be correct.

Lol never noticed on the targets.

I fired the odd L42 (Lee Enfield Sniper Rifle Post 1970) when attached to the infantry and let them fire my LMG L4A4 (Bren). A couple of WW2 era weapons re-chambered for 7.62mm NATO used up to the 90’s.

Sorry, yes it’s the L42A1 a very amazing rifle.

Never got to fire too many rounds out of the L42. Fired a whole lot more out of the No 4 chambered in .303 mainly without scopes and the odd round from a No 5 also in .303

Would love to own one and a Bren but the missus wont let me have my baby tank never mind a rifle or LMG.

I like the 303 just as well

Generally, the aim is to keyhole - but I guess arseholing would imply equally well placed shots?

Arseholing would be lucky shots.

Hitting my arsehole might be a well placed shot from the viewpoint of the shooter but, having been given an unnecessarily bigger and considerably less functional arsehole, not from mine.

You girls can stop with the butt talk now.

I guess you’re not a desciple of the ‘sweet-let-off’, then?

What are the going rates for a Lee Enfield? Have the increases exponentially? A former mechanic of mine bought his on the cheap about 20 years ago…

You’re just egging them on now…

…LOL!..

It’s not fair, I want one! All I get to play with is my boring SA80 A2.

I don’t even get to play with my L85 A2 anymore (preferred my LSW anyway as I at least got SUSAT).

LSW?? The crow cannon?! No thanks, the A2 version is ridiculously heavy. Apparently we’re all getting ACOG now instead of SUSAT although I’ll believe it when I see it, we haven’t got SUSAT yet and we’re a combat arms unit!

LOL I lugged an LMG or occasionally an Elephant gun (SLR) unless I was lucky enough to get the Stirling (with attendant Charlie G) until we got SA80 and LSW in 92.

The LSW was sooo much lighter I could fire it standing easily. Being wedgies we used the iron sights on our L85’s (I still passed as marksman on the Infantry APWT).

I carried the M14 into combat iron sights only and made more than a few 400 and 500 yards shots in my wasted youth,LOL>
