Crashed B-25

B-25J (That’s All-Brother, serial #43-27717, tail letters 9V, 340th Bombardment Group, 489th Squadron) crashed on the runway after 38 missions. The pilot was T/Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan, from Brooklyn, NY. MTO, 1943

Interesting observations: 1: This B-25J is camouflaged. By the end of production, bare metal was standard. 2: It lacks the side gun pods below the cockpit even though the associated reinforcing plate is fitted. (It is the slightly raised plate that the name & artwork is on.) Fitting of these guns was not universal to the sub-type, especially for level bombing in MTO OR ETO
