It’s a really good show in my opinion, the wife’s not much for it though.:mrgreen:
Saw one episode, once, and wished afterwards I could get the half hour I spent watching it back. Unmitigated tripe, and the comparisons are pretty much nonsensical - like kids in the playground playing Top Trumps.
Nothing like a little escapism, but no, I haven’t seen it.

I have watched a couple of episodes, the weapons, and their uses were interesting, but the folks running the show were making a soap opera out of it with the overly dramatic narrator, and poor dialog writing. I was amused by the Waffen SS Vs. the Viet Cong show…

I watched the first series it was nothing more than as you Americans say ‘smack talk’ all the way through. It was about as scientific as Jacob Zuma’s theory that having a hot shower after sex somehow protects you against AIDs. Mildly amusing…yes, accurate…no

I think it is entertaining for the weapons demonstrations if nothing else. if a soldier or war enthusiast cannot be impressed by the skill of some of these fellows handling these weapons, it is shameful. Yes, it reeeks of smack talk and political correctness . The GS-9 vs SWAt was a fine example. I LOVE THIS SHOW
Not for the serious historian but defintely proper weapon porn. One thing I will heap praise on the show for is showing what effect weapons have on the body. Those replica body parts they annihilate during the show are pretty impressive.

Deadliest Warrior is awesome! Trouble is the channel that screened it in the UK is now a gonner!
My fave was Waffen SS vs Viet Cong. I understand that some former SS men joined the French foces in Indochina, so these two forces have actually faced each other in reality (sort of)
I doubted that the Rajput warrior would have beaten the Roman Centrurion though!
