Division Rosters

At the end of WW2, the Armed Forces destroyed all rosters. We are attempting to reconstruct Rosters for the 28th (WW2 & Korea), 30th, 31st (WW2 & Korea), 83rd, 92nd and 106th Infantry Divisions.

All can be found at IndianaMilitary.org. Select the Division in the top row, and then “Roster” in the left-hand index. Currently more than 60,000 names and information. Additions to the Rosters are welcomed. Click on “Contact the Webmaster” for the email link.

Thanx for this precious info, webmaster.

I believe your statement “At the end of WW2, the Armed Forces destroyed all rosters” is too broad. For example, until just after WW II, the Marine Corps prepared monthly muster rolls that listed each individual in the reporting unit (battalion, independent unit, etc.), with appropriate comments. I have used them at the National Archives and the Marine Corps Historical Center,
