Landing at Aboukir
The aircraft flew from their bases at Krtole and Orahovac via Athern, Corinth, Kefalonia, Patras and Crete to Egypt. They were re-designated as No.2 Yugoslav Squadron of the Royal Yugoslav Navy Air Arm the CO of which was Commander LV Petrovitch. It was relocated with No.230 Squadron at Aboukir and was administered by the Squadron. It was a virtually self-supporting Flight with some RAF maintenance assistance. Some 15 Royal Yugoslav Navy officers and 11 NCOs escaped with their aircraft, Eight Free French fitters were also found by the RAF and posted to service the Dorniers’ Hispano-Suiza engines.
