Does anyone know this picture?

I hope someone can help me. I was reading a book and came across an old picture, and my entire family thinks I’m crazy but I think one of the soldiers in the picture is my dad. It’s a very old pic, the faces are not very clear and there are no names of soldiers, and I’m not sure what my dad’s battalion was, but here’s a description. Biazza Ridge Sicily, July 11, 1943, the soldiers are taking the picture on a captured Tiger Tank. The book is Combat Jump, if anyone knows the names of the soldiers I would love to hear from you, Thank you.

Can’t see the picture here - can you put a copy up?

I’m sorry I don’t have the picture, it was in a book.

The photo I was talking about, for some reason I was not able to up load here, but was able to do on the home page of this website. Biazza Ridge, july 10 1943, if anyone can find out the names of the soldiers, or knows anyone who knows please contact me

Here is your picture, I brought it over from the photo side. (Click to enlarge)

We’re experiencing a common war-time mix-up here…it’s a Panzer IV, not a Tiger.

Thank you, but is there any way to find out the names of the soldiers?

Official military photos had to have a caption for each image, the caption may contain the names of the people, though its not guaranteed. you might contact the writer, or publisher to see if there was a caption. you’ll need to give complete info, book title, edition if more than one, page number, and a description of the image. If the image is courtesy of some other entity, you may want to contact them as well. Wish I could be of more help.

Thank you tankgeezer. I tried to contact the writer, but he has not responded yet.

A word to the wise: When writing an author, or a publisher, etc, your odds of getting a response go up considerably if you include a postage-paid, self-addressed envelope with your letter. If you don’t include such, your odds of a response tend towards nil.

This link might be helpful but it’s old now and the users might not be still around.

Third post would be the one of interest, the member Phil Rosenkrantz had an Uncle on that tank so he could be of help, also Google his name for his own site.

Thank you downwithpeace, I am going to check that out right now. Thank you so much.
