Does mod disciplinary activity slow the board?

Mod responses to the likes of Scott http://www.ww2incolor.com/forum/showthread.php?11696-Share-Amazing-Native-populance-exploit-in-WW2 are necessary, but I have the impression that they often tend to slow down posting in other threads for a while.

It’s as if the other members get a bit scared of mods on the warpath and hold back.

Perhaps we could do it better by making it clear that it’s only the current arsehole we’re targeting and that other members are safe?

Its possible, though I would hope not. My thought was that they might find it entertaining, and traffic would increase. (a good Witch ducking always attracts a crowd) I could understand a drop in posts to the affected thread, but not site wide. Could always PM some members to see what they think about it.

Why not stick a poll up in off-topic and start a discussion?

Done.
