Early War USA Artillery

A 75mm M1897 M2A2 howitzer. A copy of the famous Mle 1897 "French 75," mounted on an improved carriage. The towed gun was used in the early Pacific Campaigns, but was or was becoming obsolete. For Africa and Europe, most of the guns were converted into gun motor carriages, such as the M3 GMC.

This photo might even be called pre war. I think it is horse drawn artillery. Note what appears to be a caisson and the boots. Both would indicate horses.
