I had thought to post this in the movies section, but that is for WW2 movies, so i’ll put it here.
If you saw the first movie, “Elizabeth” about Queen E. The first, this is a contiuation of that story line. It progresses into the trouble with Spain that is based in Religious disagreements, and culminates in the Battle with The Spanish Armada, and the destruction of same.
This movie is high drama, well played as any one might see. Not alot of time is spent on the Naval engagement, some interesting fighting scenes, though most of the screentime is spent on the courtly intrigues, political, and personal, of the main players. kate Blanchett does the role of Queen Bess very well, (and looks hot in long hair, and armor) Jeffrey Rush is perfect as Walshingham, and plays it very convincingly. (A good man to have as a friend) anyway, if you havnt seen the first movie, it would help to do so, before seeing the second.
I caught a preview on TV last week. It looks like the naval engagements were pretty impressively done in CG. I would be inclined to watch this one (I’ve seen several other movies about Elizabeth I, including Elizabeth starring Cate Blanchett and the recent Elizabeth I done for HBO starring Helen Mirren).
