Evacuation of the Kuban bridgehead
This photo is a rare document of the german evacuation of the Kuban bridgehead/Southern Russia in autumn of 1943. Within 34 days more than 200000 soldiers, 70000 horses and 40000 vehicles were transported to the Crimea peninsula. One of the most organizational and logistical achievements of WW2.
