Failed motorsled attack

These russian unit tried to cross the frozen Ilmen Lake (correcting, not the Ladoga Lake) on their motorsleds. German artillery fire made this attack a failure though.

That’s really accurate fire to have knocked out such small vehicles. Not to mention these were probably fast moving. Maybe artillery fired for general effect?

Y think to cnock these wehicles you dont need wery acurate fire, HE shels, exploading near can penetrate sides of this sled with shrapnels, because sled was made of plywood
