Film Themes

Anyone know what this piece of film music is? It’s been bothering me for an age. It appears in The Heroes of Telemark, Dunkirk and The Bridge on the River Kai if not more. It seems to be particularly British but may not be.

Sorry, can’t help but I sympathize. In the mid 90’s I saw an animation of a 19th century Brit. Soldier and an Indian girl with the most beautiful music I had ever heard as the background. This was before the internet and it was over ten years before I could identify the music.

The track list for Bridge on the River Kwai is here http://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/1089222/a/Bridge+on+the+River+Kwai.htm so you should be able to track it down from that list.

Malcolm Arnold composed the music for Bridge on the River Kwai and for Dunkirk, but on a quick Google search I can’t find a play list for Dunkirk. If you can find one, if the title is the only one that appears on both films it should be the one you’re looking for.

Arnold also composed the music for Battle of Britain, among others. http://malcolmarnold.co.uk/compositions/compositions-film-music.html

Thanks fellas. I’ll check it out, RS. If I remember correctly, it also appears in Ice Cold In Alex.

I’ll let you know how I get on
