Not "tanks," but rather an M-36 Jackson "Slugger" 90mm gun motor carriage, or "tank destroyer"…

While I do not know the actions of these particular tanks, a sort of waste of these anti tank guns in the American army in general was due to their doctrine. In some cases indirect fire was considered "at least doing something".
