If, for the sake of argument, we assume that the dampened oscillations would be felt on the opposite side of the planet, (about twelve and a half thousand kilometers away,) can you imagine the local effect…?
Perhaps the soldiers in the picture have actually tried it and are airborne to avoid the local rebound, as well as magma leakage induced by the trans-planetary shock?
Maybe they are testing out the new “type 100 invisible rope bridge” that they invented?
