French S.A.S. in Saône et Loire september 1944
This what my Father in Law did.He was a French/Italian/English speaker and was in the SAS. He also did drops with the SOE. Landed on Sword beach at D Day and then was soon rampaging round France in a jeep. Never the most stable of men, WWII did for him and he was an evil git the rest of his life. Very occasionally he would talk about his experiences, some not pleasant. He did claim that although he fired his Sten gun 00’s of times but he never had any proof he actually hit anybody !!
