Genernal Nie and enemy's orphan

In August of 1940,the Chinese army take "100 infantries " operation ,which use 115 infantries to attack Japanese troops in North China. In the battle of Jingxing coal mine railway station, a couple of Japanese staff of the railway station died due to the friendly artillery fire when Japanese made a counter-attack,left two kids(one is still baby). General Nie Rongzhen of the Chinese Army, adopted them. And after the operation is over, he sent the kids back to Japanese controlled territory. In 1980 ,Mrs. Kato Mihoko ,girl in the photo , visited to China and met General Nie to thank him .
