Going by the shape of the helmets, I would say the Allied troops are Americans. However, am I wrong or is the soldier in the white carrying a British Webley revolver?
Or maybe a Russian Nagant M1895,taken from a German soldier?
The photo shows the reality of war – on a human level, without male bravado or official propaganda beclouding the situation. Sad.
